If you’ve ever had the chance to read “The Secret,” you would know that our thoughts are constantly shaping reality. Our words are constantly shaping reality, both in the present and in the future. Did you know that on average, most people say around 10,000 words a day? It is not uncommon for people to say 20,000-50,000 words in a day.
It’s now well-known that our thoughts determine our reality, but do you really know the power of our words? For example, when someone tells themselves they are “too tired” for an activity, they will actually become more tired. This is because the thought of “I am too tired” is usually followed by a list of reasons why they can’t do it (tired, sad, angry).
Many people now believe that their thoughts, words, and actions are what give the world its shape. When they feel sad, they think about all of their shortcomings and worry about how they will ever be able to accomplish anything. They do not see the good in themselves or anyone else for that matter. And so, they live life feeling down on themselves and unhappy with what is going on in their lives.
