The power of breathing correctly. Did you know that the way you breathe can affect your health? Over-breathing and breathing in too deeply too often can contribute to poor health and exacerbate pre-existing illnesses and diseases.
The best way to breathe is by reducing your breathing and to practice shallow breathing through your nose and not your mouth. Breathing through your nose acts as an air filter and keeps away bacteria and viruses.
Reduced breathing builds up the carbon dioxide in your body which helps oxygenate the blood within the body through the respiratory system to your lungs and blood vessels. This helps to keep your body healthy and in balance. When practiced daily, you can reduce (and even overcome) asthma, hyperventilation, anxiety, depression, digestive disorders, chronic fatigue, dizziness, inflammation, fogginess in the mind, endocrine disorders… and the list goes on!
Reduced breathing is comparable to that of swimming, in that you hold your breath whilst taking a few strokes and then exhale, effectively reducing your breathing and building up your lung capacity.
